Features & Benefits

GizmowSteering the front casters gives our unit unprecedented hillside performance.  We can traverse hillsides that would normally be limited to a walk behind unit.

The operator of a Gizmow Formula mows at a higher speed with more accuracy because our steering is more precise.  Cutting and trimming time is reduced in almost all cases.

Since we maneuver with a steering wheel, the time spent mastering the operation of our unit is greatly reduced.  Typical time spent training on a conventional lever steer mower for the novice can take weeks.  The average person masters our controls in less than a day.

Our unit will never require a tracking adjustment.

If an operator desires a zero turn rider with a steering wheel, he need look no further – The Gizmow Formula is the only unit to offer this feature.

Because we drive both wheels rear wheels all of time, it is literally impossible to get our unit stuck on wet ground.  As well, because our unit synchronizes the rotation of the rear wheels in reverse, we are able to back up a steep grade better than any other mid-z rider on the market.

As long as our unit is circling an object, the inside tire will continue to rotate.  This eliminates turf tear and allows the operator to mow at a higher speed without the worry of rear wheel lockup.

While we only manufacture commercial lawn equipment, we are aware that homeowners buy mid-z riders as well.  Learning to operate a lever steer unit is often very difficult and intimating for the non-professional user.

While most zero turn mowers are similar in design and construction, the Gizmow Formula is quite unique.  We have engineered our units to the very highest of standards.  Below are some of the construction, design and component features that make Gizmow a leader in landscape equipment.

The Cutting DeckCutting Decks
The cutting deck is made of 7 gauge-welded steel.

To create suction and eliminate blowout, the front of our cutting decks feature a very large lip.  The rear portion of our deck is actually deeper than the front.  This creates even more suction and makes our deck stripe better than traditional decks.  The chute opening of the deck is large and allows the grass clippings to exit the deck and avoid clogging.  The cutting blades are positioned to allow the grass room to exit the deck with greater efficiency than other units. The blade on the left is set close to the front of the deck.  The center blade is placed further toward the back of the deck.  The blade on the right side of the deck is placed even farther from the front of the deck.

The deck has two anti scalp rollers mounted under the deck to eliminate scalping.

The deck has a very large reinforcement around the chute, as this is typically the most vulnerable section of a cutting deck.

The cutting blades are some of the finest available.  They are made of marbain steel and are manufactured by Fisher-Barton.

An electric actuator, rated for 1000 lbs, moves our deck.  The force applied in the movement of the deck is 350 lbs.  The mechanism connecting the deck to the actuator is specifically designed to eliminate the shock load on the actuator. We have never experienced a failure.

The cutting deck is hung on rods rather than chains that wear out more rapidly and cause the deck not to cut evenly.

The holes in the belt pulley covers allow the operator to remove the blades without removing the belt covers.

Our spindles feature a unique (3) bearing arrangement and a (6) bolt-mounting flange.  Most units only use a four-bolt flange.

A belt path decal is affixed under the left foot platform should the deck drive belt require replacement.

The Frame

The frame is made of welded steel and is pressure tested.  Once sealed, the frame is e-coated with our automotive primer before it receives its’ final color powder coat finish.  The e-coat primer is four times as resistant to rust as the finish coat. Gizmow is one of the only commercial units to employ this technology. All of our powder-coated components are coated with our primer before the finish coat.

Components

The chain, which rotates the front casters, is self-lubricating.

All of the mechanisms in our steering and hydraulic system are assembled with automotive tie rod ends and bronze bushings.  The system should literally never wear out.

All of our belts are Kevlar reinforced.

All of our seats have an active suspension and adjustable arm rests.

We only use Hydrogear pumps and motors.

Because we are not as likely to tear turf like a typical zero turn mower, we equip our units with very aggressive rear tires.  This improves our performance, especially on hillsides.  In addition, our tires are more rounded where the tread meets the sidewall providing us with even less tearing of the turf.

We use only MOBIL – 1 in our hydraulic system.

We use automotive relays to protect our electrical circuits.  The relays are numbered should they ever require service.

We have an electrical circuit, which will not allow our units to be moved with the parking brake engaged.

We utilize push-pull cables in our patented control system.  The cable is rated for 100 lbs of force.  The force required in our system is 30 lbs.  The cable is only used in compression and is never stretched.  We have never replaced a cable on any of our units.
